100mphscooter.com 1/4 Mile Sprint - Classes and Class Rules for 2014

After further discussions with the National Sprint
Association - Northern Section
we are holding a six
round championship in 2014.

Our classes have been developed over a eight year period
to suit all types of scooter making sprinting both
competitive and fun.

For an in depth explanation into the classes please click here.

The 2013 Scooter Classes are listed below - Class Rules follow in the same order
Automatic Street Legal Scooter up to 125cc (Auto up to 125cc)
Automatic Street Legal Scooter over 125cc (Auto over 125cc)
Geared Street Legal Scooter up to 210cc (Geared up to 210cc)
Geared Street Legal Scooter over 210cc (Geared over 210cc)
Modified Street Legal Scooter Unlimited cc (Modified Scooter)
Automatic Competition Scooter Unlimited cc (Auto Competition Scooter)
Geared Competition Scooter Unlimited cc (Geared Competition Scooter)
Automatic Top Scooter - Unlimited cc (Auto Top Scooter)
Geared Top Scooter - Unlimited cc (Geared Top Scooter)

The Modified Scooter Class now accommodates Street Legal Scooters which have been modified in such a way that they still resemble "a Scooter" but no longer operate in the way they were designed and manufactured

For example, a Street Legal Scooter with:

1. A motorcycle engine grafted into its frame

2. A scooter engine which has had its barrel and/or crank cases welded

3. A scooter engine which has a modified cooling system, including water cooled heads
and/or cylinders, or where cooling cowlings cannot be fitted

4. A scooter with a day time MOT - e.g. no lights

The above list is not an exhausted list for the Street Legal Scooter classes. Please check your particular Class Rules below and if your Street Legal Scooter does not conform to the rules it will compete in the Modified Class

The Competition Scooter Class and Top Scooter Class has now been separated into Automatic and Geared.

Hopefully by adding the classes, we should encourage more scooterists to attend and take part in our events

Scrutineering shall be carried out by an NSA Licenced Scrutineer. Class delegation shall be at the discretion of the Class Specification Scrutineer. If your scooter is modified beyond the class rules the Class Specification Scrutineer will inform you and you may be moved into the relevant class. The Clark of the Course shall have the final say in any disputes

Without exception, the top 3 Scooters in each class may be subject to onsite tests including cylinder head removal for technical inspection. Failure to comply may result in disqualification
